The martial arts have long been associated with developing strength, courage, and discipline. But behind the physical movements of punching and kicking lies an important aspect of character development that is often overlooked. Taekwon-Do, for example, is renowned for cultivating self-esteem, instilling courtesy, and enforcing discipline. It allows practitioners to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and grow into more confident, respectful, and resilient individuals.

We will be learning about the character development side of martial arts. It is no accident that Taekwon-DO is known for building self-esteem, teaching courtesy, enhancing discipline, and more.

This course connects the invisible dots of the physical movement of punching and kicking to the real-world issues of kindness and how to gain self-confidence and other attributes we strive for.

Taught by Grand Master(GM) Peter Thibado, the 8th person in American awarded 9th Degree. He has been continuously practicing International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) Taekwon-Do (TKD) for more than 45 Years. Grand Master Thibado has had the opportunity to have private conversations about the personal development side of the art called the “ DO” pronounced “dough” with General Choi, the founder of the ITF TKD. He will share those insights in this personal development side of martial arts. His college studies and teaching experience in psychology are international in scope. He has authored a book on the subject of the influence of martial arts on life. GM Thibado has hosted an International Instructional Course (IIC) and International Umpire Course (IUC) and has served on the original ITF Do and Ethics committee from its inception for 5 years.
